I had such a tough time staying on a “diet”. About 3 or 4pm each day I’d feel so hungry and I couldn’t figure out why that was. I’d stuff myself. Another problem I was having was that I was craving sweets. And, once I started in on the sweets I couldn’t stop. Now I get it: my blood sugar was too low. This book is the best “Diet” book I’ve ever read. It’s so simple! Anyone can do it and it makes perfect sense.
This book has beena game changer for me. The author’s style is friendly, encouraging and realistic. Her eating plan is flexible enough for any lifestyle and her approach is one for the long haul. No radical rules about giving up any particular food. Just a doable plan that you can live with for life.-Dianna
I haven’t written a review before but I felt I had to about this book. I have been on different diet programs and read many books but after reading this book, I felt I could rest easy about following this balanced “hey, this makes sense!!!!!” approach!!! I first borrowed it from my library but after reading it twice ( yes, twice ) I bought my own copy from Amazon ( of course!) so I could highlight and write in it myself. I have been following the plan for about a month now and am still tweaking the fine points to suit my life-style but the more I am tweaking and living the program, the MORE it makes sense. I am learning to read my own body signals now better than ever and am truly surprised at how much food I DON’T need when I put the “One One One team” to work for me!!! PLEEEEEEEASE pick up this book and read it…. you won’t be sorry!!- C.J. Muhlhauser
Easiest “diet” ever. I have been following the eating strategy for almost 3 years. I’ve lost about 160 pounds, have gone from a size 24 to a size 6, and have kept it off. I have had a weight problem most of my adult life and have tried several diets in the past without long term success. This plan is as easy mechanically as it is mentally. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in moving toward a healthy eating plan or trying to lose weight.- Amazon Reader
A simple construct for eating in balance. This has helped me keep the weight loss OFF from a few years ago. I first bought the Kindle version but decided on the book, because it as easier to reference the charts. The examples she gives are actually more helpful once you get going. It is a simple way to eat healthfully. In the end it is about 1. Balance (protein, carb, fat at every meal) 2. Portion control of the three items (her charts and examples are helpful) and 3. Probably fewer carbs for everyone! It would be hard to feel hungry if you have the meals and snacks as 1:1:1- Susan Parks.

This is a common-sense solution to dieting. It’s really not a diet…it’s an easy-to-follow way to eat for the rest of your life. Even after reading a few chapters and beginning to put her formula to work, I started losing weight after years of being on a plateau. I don’t have to give up any food groups, I am not starving and I’m losing weight…what a great combination! – B Monty
This program one one one is so easy and simple to follow. I love the program it makes you stop and think about the 3 components you are eating and their are about a million combinations to do. Went away for the weekend..stuck to it as close as I could with eating out. Only gained 1/2 lb but what was so amazing is that it was so easy to get back on the right track because you can eat whatever you want as long as you stay within the guidelines of one one one. I know I will get to my goal using this program I have about 110 lbs left to lose. I feel better than ever !!!!- Corrine Mead.
The beauty of this diet is that nothing is off limits. You just need to be mindful of serving sizes and how to combine proteins, carbs and fats to make complete meals. As the author explains, you need 1 protein, 1 carbohydrate and 1 fat at each meal hence the One, One, One title. After explaining this, the author goes on to provide numerous examples of how to combine foods in ways that allow you to eat based on your food preferences, such as carb lover, meat lover, junk food lover, etc. She teaches you how to stay on the plan when dining out. By balancing your meals in this way, your blood sugar is stabilized which keeps your hunger and cravings in check. After a few days on the diet, you will find you no longer experience cravings and you are satisfied with much less food so the weight comes off naturally. – Elizabeth III
